Kristy Hill BA (Hons) MPsych (Clin) is a passionate and effective therapist who is based in North Hobart, Tasmania. She has been practising as a psychologist since 2004 and spent her early career working within the Tasmanian public services, where she held clinical psychologist positions within the Education Department, Disability Services, inpatient Mental Health Services, Alcohol and Drug Services and Forensic Mental Health Services. Kristy began building a private practice in 2009 and since 2015 she has been working exclusively in private practice. A member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Kristy is a fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, former State Chair for Tasmania and former national committee member of the college. She is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. Having worked in both inpatient and community settings, Kristy is experienced in providing interventions for all general mental health conditions (eg. depression, anxiety and stress), emotional issues, and life crises. She has a special interest in the treatment of eating disorders, personality disorders, trauma (including borderline personality disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder and self-harm), mood and emotion regulation disorders, perinatal mental health and phobias. She develops personalised interventions, depending on the person’s treatment goals, using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other mindfulness based therapies. Kristy works with children, adolescents, adults and couples. She is registered with Medicare Australia, DVA and Private Health Funds. She also provides services for organisations such as ADF, Victims of Crime, Comcare and MAIB.
