Established in 1996, originally as Robyn Stephen & Associates Speech Pathology, Melbourne Child Development has grown to become a dynamic, multi-disciplinary Practice providing the highest quality of care for children and adolescents. Our Practice philosophy has a strong family focus. Your knowledge of your child is combined with our thorough and skillful assessment to identify any underlying weaknesses in the foundation skills needed for successful development, communication and learning. At Melbourne Child Development we are dedicated to helping you help your child reach their potential. With experienced and passionate clinicians, supported by a friendly and caring client services team, the combined vision for services at the Practice is to investigate, create means, and facilitate a child, adolescent or young adult’s ability to achieve their communication and learning potential. Our clinicians work with children of all ages and backgrounds, and who have a broad range of language, communication, and health needs. We currently have 8 Speech Pathologists and an Occupational Therapist. Each practitioner comes from a unique background of training and prior work, and has specific special interest areas and additional qualifications, resulting in a team that is diverse in its perspectives and therapeutic approaches. Working in close collaboration with one another, this diversity combines to create a dynamic and skillful group of practitioners sharing their knowledge and expertise. We are delighted to advise that we have the capacity to conduct a wide range of sessions using Telehealth. There are a variety of reasons why that might be desirable, beneficial or advisable. Research evidence strongly supports the clinical efficacy of telehealth session in a wide variety of circumstances. Over the past 12 months we have invested heavily in moving our practice management, accounting and backoffice capability and our entire fleet of technology tools to ensure privacy, security and best practice support for our work with families. This has given us the perfect platform on which to launch a best practice telehealth service that ensures privacy, security and clinical outcomes that are of the highest standard possible. We use Coviu, an Australian CSIRO developed platform specifically designed for health applications, so it has capabilities and protections that meet the Australian requirements for security and privacy in the healthcare industry.
