Chen believes that therapy outcomes should be more than just reduction of psychological distress. While exploring the causes, triggers and maintaining factors of clients’ current problems, she also considers clients’ values, strengths and aspirations, empowering them to strive for a more meaningful, fulfilled life. Having lived in four different countries, Chen embraces the cultural diversity in Melbourne and is experienced in working with clients from different cultural backgrounds. When working with children, Chen cultivates a nurturing, playful environment for the child, and takes a team approach by connecting the parents, the school and the community.
